We know that many of you want to do your bit for the environment by making choices that support the welfare of our planet. We wanted to make it easy for you to find brands that support ethical or sustainable choices, so we introduced a Green Cashback category.

There are many eco-friendly Green Cashback brands for you to explore. Here are a few newcomers that might inspire some of your choices.

Who Gives a Crap – sustainable toilet paper and tissues

Who Gives a crap

Who Gives a Crap really loves toilet paper because they realised through it, they could make a difference. 50% of their profits go to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world.

2 billion people don’t have access to a toilet. Simon, Jehan, and Danny couldn’t abide this and so in July 2012, they launched Who Gives a Crap with a crowdfunding campaign. In 50 hours, they raised over £40,000.

Their toilet humour is as high as their commitment to staying ethical and sustainable. They make toilet paper from recycled paper or bamboo. Their honesty about every stage of the manufacturing process is not to be sniffed at. So far, they have donated over £5.3 million, which is just incredible.

We are Tala – sustainable activewear

We are Tala

Fitness entrepreneur Grace Beverley worked in the fitness industry for years. She noticed there was a gap in her wardrobe and set out to fill it. We are Tala produce sustainable activewear that doesn’t let you down on performance, flattering fits, quality, or style at a reasonable price.

They discovered that the average item of clothing in the UK is only worn 7 times and thrown out after 2.2 years. So, they decided to use sustainable, durable fabrics to help you move and feel comfortable in your activewear for longer.

Their materials are sourced from all around the world, and they have made sure to use ethical suppliers who are listed on their website. With all the love and attention they have put into their products, it’s no wonder they came highly commended in the Drapers Awards and won at the Creative Impact Awards in 2021.

Terrapin – handmade products from indigenous tribes

Terrapin

Terrapin Trading began in a daring mission in 2007 to bring the amazing handmade products of countries in the developing world to our attention. They are part of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum and by trading in this manner, they have helped improve the lives of these craftspeople.

In 2003 founder David was backpacking Southern Africa and was struck by the extreme poverty in the area. He bought 100 Tonga baskets from the women of Siachilaba with the idea to sell them back home in Scotland. All the proceeds from this were sent back to fund the village school. Thus began the journey to start Terrapin.

They now currently trade with small businesses in Morocco, Guatemala, Mexico, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Uganda, South Africa, Thailand, Indonesia, India, Nepal, Greece, Portugal, and Vietnam, where they adhere to the principles of fair and ethical trade. They personally travel to each country, establishing sustainable, collaborative relationships with the artisans, using local materials where possible all so the world can enjoy these amazing handmade goods.

The Green Cashback category is continually updated with more inspiring retailers, and brands that believe in ethical and sustainable choices. We use EthicalConsumer.org as a guide, mixed with our own research to confirm retailers with strong green and ethical credentials.
