• Company History

  The Lands' End story can be traced back to 1963 when Gary Comer, a former advertising copywriter and avid sailor, opened Lands' End Yacht Stores Inc in Chicago.

  However, the 1970s saw a shift from the company's nautical origins to a fully fledged and much admired clothing brand. The decade also saw the company move from Chicago to rural Dodgeville in Wisconsin. Lands' End continued to expand throughout the 1980s, during which period it was listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

  The following decade saw the company venture outside of the USA for the first time - to Oakham in England and then Japan and Germany. Their website was launched in 1995, while Lands' End was named one of the 100 best companies to work for in America during this period.

  The dawning of a new millennium witnessed the beginning of a new chapter for Lands' End as they were acquired by Sears, while the German operation was voted one of the best places to work in the country.   This service costs £3.50 and will add one working day to your delivery timescale. They have chosen what they have found to be the most popular styles and colours, as well as a contrasting yet complementary thread for most items.
