Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust

The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust aims to reduce rural poverty in The Gambia through improving the health, welfare and productivity of working equines. A healthy working equine can increase a families income by 500%. Keeping horses and donkeys healthy in The Gambia is a real challenge, due to the prevalence of disease, poor nutrition, limited veterinary services and lack of owner education. Through a combination of owner education and the provision of veterinary services the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust can alleviate the suffering of working equines which in turn improves their productivity. This is a small charity acheiving big things!

German Shepherd Rescue Elite

German Shepherd Rescue Elite (GSRE) has been formed with the aim of rescuing, re-homing German Shepherd Dogs (GSD’s) and educating people on the breed. GSRE is backed up by a team of unpaid volunteers who strive to aid and promote responsible ownership of the breed. GSRE’s aim is to be the prevention and not always the cure, through offering education on the lovely breed and how to look after these amazingly intelligent and energetic dogs. We not only look to re-home dogs but keep them in their original homes by offering training and behaviour advice. Through our volunteers and website we want to inform people on all aspects of dog ownership before you decide to take the plunge especially as German Shepherd Dogs are a large working breed and are not suitable for everyone. We are a proactive charity with a common goal; the welfare of animals.

Gwent Beekeepers CIO is an active, friendly group with over 200 members and our aim is to encourage, improve and advance beekeeping in the area covered by the former county of Gwent. To do this we organise a number of services and social events to support beekeepers and inform the general public. We also work to represent beekeeping both nationally and internationally and actively promote bees and beekeeping to schools, WI's, church groups and other organisations. We put a lot of effort into providing "Taster Days", running a beginners course, teaching novices and improvers. Non-members are welcome to attend our monthly meetings and apiary sessions. We are one of the nine members of MSW beekeeping convention, a group of associations that take it in turns to host an annual weekend beekeeping conference.
